CI LivingFSHN 340: Food Production and Service was an introductory course focusing on the management of commercial and non-commercial food service systems through the operation of Bevier Cafe. Students participated in managing the procurement, production and service of food, as well as the sanitation and maintenance of equipment and facilities. This course gave me the opportunity to appear on the local news channel WCIA 3 on two separate occasions and demonstrate how to make black bean burgers (on the right) and pumpkin pesto pinwheels.
Buzz Magazine (June 2013-May 2015)Since June 2013, I have been writing monthly Buzz magazine articles for both print and online media. Topics covered include kitchen tips, restaurant reviews, interviews with restaurant owners, coverage of current nutrition topics, and recipe recommendations.

Campus Recreation: Facility Assistant & Customer Service Assistant (May 2013-August 2015)
In May 2013, I was hired as a Facility Assistant with Campus Recreation. My responsibilities included ensuring that patrons' entrance was authorized, interacting with patrons regularly while directing them to appropriate resources and maintaining a safe and clean environment throughout the facility.
In March 2014, I was promoted to Customer Service Assistant. This position allows me to consistently practice customer service skills and conflict resolution through constant patron interaction. The training and firsthand experience I've received from this position has given me the skills necessary to work on my feet, resolve conflicts efficiently, and meet the needs of customers from a variety of different backgrounds in any environment.
