My name is Leila Shinn and I completed my dietetic internship and Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition at Rush University Medical Center in June 2017. I then officially became a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and worked with National Dairy Council as the Nutrition Research Intern predominantly focusing on scientific translation. The passion that my colleagues at NDC had for enhancing the lives of others through research in nutrition and sustainability further fueled my passion for science and learning. As a result, I began furthering my education as a predoctoral fellow in the Division of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Fall 2018. In the Nutrition & Human Microbiome Laboratory, I examine the impact of diet on the human gastrointestinal microbiome, metagenome & metabolome.
