ARC Instructional Kitchen (May 2013-August 2015)
The ARC Instructional Kitchen aims to provide a healthy cooking experience to those who participate in our programs by offering functional recipes, a friendly experience and fresh food. The programs we offer include healthy cooking classes, group rentals, grocery store tours, nutrition cafés, and nutrition check-ups. Each semester we offer 3-4 healthy cooking series classes in which staff members are responsible for overseeing the class to ensure that proper cooking techniques are executed by class participants and to offer accurate nutrition information. Groups can also request that a class be held specifically for them covering a topic of their choice. Grocery store tours are held at our local supermarket, where staff members are responsible for leading group participants through the store while providing tips on smart shopping. Nutrition cafés are monthly events where staff members prepare and distribute free samples while making themselves available to answer any general nutrition questions. Finally, nutrition check-ups are offered every other Wednesday. Patrons can register to have a 24-hour food log analyzed with nutrition software and make an appointment to discuss how to reach their dietary goals with one of our staff members.

In May 2013, I was hired as a Cooking Instructor and then promoted to the position of Student Wellness Program Assistant in March 2014. As the Student Wellness Program Assistant, I am responsible for ensuring that all of our staff are properly trained and that all of our programs are executed efficiently.
